Dao Eats is our vegan food blog. We started Dao Eats with the intention to document our vegan journey and share the recipes we have developed along the way. Now, our journey has evolved into sustainable and ethical living. Being conscious of the impact our purchases and our actions have on the environment, the animals, and the community.
Our Journey
It started in 2018, when Ashley decided to transition to a vegan diet. She wanted to challenge herself to take on this new lifestyle. Unfortunately, her lack of understanding on nutrition and veganism led her to fall out of the lifestyle and adopt a pescatarian diet. At the end of 2019, Audrey began following Ashley's footsteps and transitioned to a pescatarian lifestyle.
In 2020, Ashley & Audrey decided to fully commit to a vegan lifestyle. With a pandemic, linked to animal farming, killing thousands and the threat of climate change becoming irreversible; the two decided to take the step to cut out all animal products. The consumption of animals and animal byproducts is not only detrimental to a person's health, but also to the environment and most importantly to the innocent animals.

Today, the pair are constantly exploring new cuisines and experimenting with vegan cooking. They love giving a vegan twist to their favorite dishes and developing new recipes to share with the world. Through DaoEats the two hope to show others that going vegan doesn't mean missing out on having delicious and nutritious foods.
Audrey
Audrey is currently studying International Business at Northeastern University. Her passion to travel and explore cultures influences the recipes that are created in the Dao Eats kitchen.
Ashley
Ashley is a PharmD candidate at St. John's University. Her passion for health and wellness influences the whole foods approach in the Dao Eats kitchen.
